Welcome to Len Wood's Indian Territory's online gallery of
antique North American Indian art. On this website are featured for sale
many of the artifacts and rarities that can be found at our gallery located
in Laguna Beach, California. We are known for maintaining one of the
largest selections of pre-1930 Navajo blankets and rugs available anywhere
and are a good resource for Navajo rug collectors, Navajo rug dealers,
antiquities investors and interior designers to bookmark. Most of these
weavings are from private estate collections and are usually being seen by
and offered to the public for the very first time after several generations
in a family's collection. If you can't find the type of blanket or rug you
are looking for on the nine main Navajo rug pages on our site, we may have
it in our non-published gallery inventory so please email us with a
description of the items you seek.
We also feature many of the intricate and early baskets that marked the
apex of artistic and technological development for many of the distinct and
varied Western American tribal cultures. Antique basketry (most dating circa
1880-1930) from most all of the Western tribal cultures including the
Southwest, Great Basin, Northern/Central/Southern California and Northwest
Coast regions are featured on this site. Collectors have an
opportunity to view and purchase artifacts that they might otherwise see
only in museums and books.
For individuals and corporations interested in building collections for
investment purposes we are happy to assist in the planning and acquisition
of important collectibles and can offer resources and suggestions to help
you reach your goals.
Custom digital photos of artifacts most closely matching your
specifications will be emailed on request. Please send your "want
list" to us at
info@indianterritory.com
Antique and modern pueblo pottery, Hopi kachinas, Southwest jewelry,
antique Beadwork and quillwork, and much more can be found on this site with
more being added weekly.
For collectors, we hope this website will serve as an introduction to the
variety of early materials we carry, but our best service to you will
usually be after we have gotten to know you and your collecting interests as
many of the rarest and finest items we acquire may never see the gallery
floor or this website but are offered directly to those collectors known to
us who have expressed special interest in certain types of items. By
working closely with you we can help you develop the collection of your
dreams.
