Two pages of rug photos (links on left menu) to choose from: Antique and Traditional page can include examples of collectible 19th century Saltillo serapes, early Texcocos and Central Mexico "Puebla" weavings (not to be confused with Arizona and New Mexico Pueblo weavings on THIS page.) and other regional Mexican rugs and blankets dating prior to 1950. Some of the best and earliest examples can rival Navajo weavings in collectibility. The Zapotec / Oaxacas page features new and modern rugs hand-woven in Mexico, some with traditional Mexican motifs and many that have Navajo -inspired motifs. These weavings are completely reversible just as Navajos are, although they are hand-woven on a horizontal loom with open warp techinique (not finger woven on vertical loom as the Navajo rugs are.) (In addition to these two pages featuring photos of Mexican weavings we also have a NON-Navajo "Southwest Design Rugs "rug section featuring decorative handwoven wool yarn copies of Navajo rug styles and patterns at one-fifth the price of our authentic antique and modern Navajos. Please see THIS PAGE for the decorative and inexpensive " Navajo rug copies".
